About the Vice-Chancellor

Prof. (Dr.) Sibaram Khara is a distinguished academician and researcher in the field of Electronics & Communication Engineering. He earned his Ph.D. in Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, specializing in next-generation wireless heterogeneous networks, particularly in interworking networks and protocol convergence techniques for cellular and WiFi-integrated networks. He also holds a postgraduate degree in Digital Systems from NIT Allahabad.


With extensive industry and academic experience, Dr. Khara has made significant contributions to the fields of communication and networking engineering. Notably, he successfully completed a defence services project aimed at enhancing the automation of Terminal Equipment for Message Switching Networks, improving efficiency in information management.


Dr. Khara currently serves as the Vice Chancellor of Sharda University. Previously, he held the position of Pro Vice Chancellor at Galgotias University. Before that, he was the Division Chair for Communication Engineering and the officiating Program Chair in the School of Electronics Engineering at VIT University, Vellore. Dr. Khara has visited leading global institutions such as Georgia Tech, University of Arkansas, University of Massachusetts, Rhode Island University, and Brown University, USA. He also participated in NAFSA 2016 at Denver, USA.


Through his visionary leadership and research-driven approach, Prof. (Dr.) Sibaram Khara continues to inspire students, faculty, and researchers, driving excellence at Sharda University and beyond

His major research interests include:

Cluster-based wireless sensor networks

Spectrum mobility in cognitive radio systems

Call admission control in heterogeneous networks

Carrier aggregation in LTE-A technology
